Erika & Andrew | The Kyle House Wedding
Andrew and Erika’s love story began several years ago after they met through a mutual friend. Erika tells us, “After meeting in person we finally hung out months later. On August 20, 2015 we became "official.” Over time, the couples’ feelings for each other only grew stronger and it wasn’t long before Andrew was crafting a surprise proposal for Erika!
Andrew proposed at The Most Magical Place on Earth- DISNEY WORLD! “It was a warm Florida day in August, we were dressed up for a reservation for Be Our Guest at Beast’s Castle. After walking around with Andrew, my sister and my best friend to find a perfect spot to take a group photo, Andrew got down on one knee and asked me to be his ‘happily ever after.' I said yes!"
With a dreamy proposal under their belts, the couple set to work planning their perfect wedding. They took such a refreshing approach to their planning! “The most important thing about our wedding was doing what felt right for us," Erika explains. “We had our wedding on a Thursday and had the food we loved, in the venue we loved, surrounded by those we loved. Do what makes you and your partner happy.” Andrew and Erika describe their wedding vision as “magical, rustic and completely Erika and Andrew." The couple chose The Kyle House in Fincastle, VA to host their wedding. This historic venue is well known for its rustic charm and delicious meals. Twinkling fairy lights highlight the ceremony site and outdoor spaces, lending itself beautifully to the “magical” theme of the evening.
We first met Roanoke bride-to-be, Erika, when she visited our bridal shop to find her dream wedding gown. The only criteria Erika had in mind when searching for her gown is that it made her feel “beautiful and confident." With bridal stylist, Crystal, Erika was able to try on several modern bridal silhouettes and bridal styles before choosing on “the one." Ultimately, she picked a beautiful strapless ballgown by Rebecca Ingram. The soft tulle skirt and lace bodice of the “Bernice” gown gave Erika the bridal vibes she was looking for. “When I found my gown at Amrhein’s Bridals, it fit right, and I felt beautiful. I guess I just knew!!” To personalize her bridal look, Erika had a custom rose gold sequin bolero jacket made to match her bridesmaids and provide a little coverage for a chilly December evening. The finished look was perfection!!
