Rooftop Wedding

Meet Jessica and Kevin! We first met Jessica last year when she was in the preliminary stages of wedding planning. She visited our store during our Maggie Sottero Trunk Show with her family and friends for a day of playing dress up, champagne sipping and all around bridal fun! While Jessica couldn’t make a decision between two very different bridal styles at her initial appointment, she returned to the salon before the end of the Trunk Show and chose the gorgeous art-deco inspired “Beckett” gown, by designer Sottero & Midgley.
So, here’s what you need to know about Kevin and Jessica- this is not a shy couple! They are busy living unapologetically, they take a party seriously, and they have a great group of family and friends by their side. These guys ooze confidence and fun! We were always excited when we saw that we had appointments with the German/Ohanian wedding party on our calendar, because every single person involved with their wedding was an actual delight to work and laugh with.

Naturally, Jessica and Kevin did not hesitate to make bold choices when planning their wedding. For their venue, they choose The Penthouse at Center in the Square . Because, why wouldn’t you want to host a rooftop party overlooking downtown Roanoke under the light of the starts and twinkle lights? Says Jessica, “We wanted to go with a City Chic theme with a vintage vibe. We used Art Deco as a style inspiration to accent the glass and chrome decor of the Penthouse. The rooftop offered amazing views of the Valley and the Star, which was important to us as Roanoke natives.” For her bridal bouquets, Jessica opted for statement pieces! She and her bridesmaids carried large floral pomanders in shades of ivory and purple suspended by satin ribbon on their wrists.

Kevin and his groomsmen selected the chic slim fit Michael Kors wedding suits- in a gray shade for the Groom and his mini and black for the groomsmen. During the reception, the couple chose to treat their guests to one of their favorite treats- a cigar bar! “Having our wedding on the rooftop also allowed us to host a Cigar Bar, with cigars from our friends at Milan Brothers Tobacconists.” Jessica said. We danced the night away, under the stars, with close friends and family. It truly was a magical evening!”
